For skiers and snowboarders participating in this event each person gets one change to cross the pond all the way. All riders who successfully make it the entire length of the pond during the round one qualify, and will advance to the finals. In the final rounds participants can receive up to a total of fifty points. The final rounds are based on 3 categories, you make it across, your costume, style, and the crowd’s reaction to you. With the judges scoring like this in the final round, it’s possible to win the Sno-Kona Pond Skim without making it all the way across the pond!
