Gone Surfin’ Written by katie on June 4th, 2011

Yesterday, Dana (a fellow USO employee and one of my best friends) and I decided that it was finally time to quit moping about the fact that the ski season is over and turn our attention to our summertime hobby… surfing. While it will never EVER be my true love, it has become one of my favorite activities to keep me busy until the snow begins to fall again.

I’m not going to brag about it too much, BUT it was perfect! The sun was out, the water was surprisingly warm (no booties is a gift from the surf Gods here in Oregon), and the waves were small and peeled perfectly… Basically it was my perfect surf day. Not only that but the company was amazing! A sunny day on the Oregon Coast with good friends is honestly a blessing…

My suggestion to all you lost snowbunnies and ski bums out there: Try surfing! While it is a completely different experience from the powder turns and cliff drops that you’re used to, surfing will challenge you and connect you with nature the same way.

Lucky for you, we not only offer a full selection of boardshorts, wetsuits, and surfboards… we also have surf and wetsuit rentals. Basically there is no excuse for you to not get out of the house and try it out! You don’t have to give up snowboarding or skiing as your first love, but I can almost guarantee that surfing will come in at a close second.
