On-Snow Demo At Timberline Lodge – Sunday, March 6th

As the world turns and seasons shift, many of us find ourselves pondering the future; of what lies ahead and so on and so forth. But, why? The future can’t be told, assumed obviously, but assumptions will only get you the ass end of a bad deal, and bad deals aren’t something we’re accustom to at U.S. Outdoor. Instead, we would like to give you the chance to step into the future (quite literally) with a time honored ski and snowboard on-snow demo day!

On March 6th, 2016, U.S. Outdoor will be teaming up with Timberline Lodge and a battalion of brands so you can ride the wave of the future via next year’s quiver. GOOD deals will be made on 2016 and 2017 skis and snowboards! Fates will be sealed. Assumptions will be banished. Just make sure you register first! You can register online here or register at U.S. Outdoor. Registration prior to the event is free and will save you money! More details below.

US Outdoor Proudly Presents: Rhapsody PDX – Hosted by Damian Lillard

You know that special feeling that you get in your body that comes from doing something good for someone else? It’s a great feeling to have, especially during the holiday season. After all, it is “the season of giving,” is it not? This holiday clause reads like fine print but should be plastered on the front page in bold to read- “including but not limited to.” – the holiday season. As a family owned outdoor retailer that has been operating since 1957, US Outdoor knows the value of giving back to the community. It’s a way to keep the funny fires in our bellies burning (and I’m not talking about indigestion). The opportunity arose for US Outdoor to team up with Damian Lillard and Brain Grant of the Portland Trailblazers. Two Portland icons that have helped lead their teams to and through the NBA Playoffs. So naturally US Outdoor is beyond honored and thrilled to be the title sponsor of this years premiere New Years Eve event – Rhapsody PDX – Presented by US Outdoor and hosted by Damian Lillard in support of the Brian Grant Foundation and their mission “… to empower those impacted by Parkinson’s to live active and fulfilling lives.”

Furthermore, US Outdoor shares multiple connections with both Parkinson’s Disease and the Blazers. Back in 2004, the founder of US Outdoor, Merv Solomon, was diagnosed with the degenerative disease; the same degenerative disease that affects an estimated 6.3 million people including Brian Grant, former Trailblazer, who was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s back in 2008. The news inspired Grant to revamp The Brian Grant Foundation and shift its focus on Parkinson’s.

Fuuuuurthermore, US Outdoor is also home to inhabitants of section 314, a fabled block of Blazer faithful that have been chronicled via Oregonlive.com and noticed by current and former Trailblazer players alike. Their healthy obsession with Portland’s most coveted sports franchise echoes through the shop and quite literally at the ROSE GARDEN.

So yeah, US Outdoor is stoked to be the title sponsor of Rhapsody PDX. That goes without saying. Words are hard to come by in that respect, so how do we accurately represent the magnitude of Rhapsody PDX? This video should do the trick…

Bachelor and the surrounding areas, we have the opportunity to escape the city and enjoy the fruits of precipitation at higher elevations.

On November 14th, 15th and 16th, the Expo Center will once again play host to the countless snowsport brands and retailers that help shape the proverbial landscape of PCNW culture. Come join us in the SW corner of the Expo Center. You can’t miss us, we have the biggest house on the block! All riders who successfully make it the entire length of the pond during the round one qualify, and will advance to the finals. In the final rounds participants can receive up to a total of fifty points. The final rounds are based on 3 categories, you make it across, your costume, style, and the crowd’s reaction to you. Snowboarders and skiers can receive a maximum of 50 points, and will be judged on this:

•1 Making it Across the 2nd time – 10 points
•2 Costume – 20 points (scale of 1-20)
•3 Style and Crowd Response – 20 points (scale of 1-20)

With the judges scoring like this in the final round, it’s possible to win the Sno-Kona Pond Skim without making it all the way across the pond!
