Testing . . . 1 . . .2 . . .3 Written by Lindsey on January 2nd, 2011

TEST: Rainy weekend at Beverly Beach just south of Lincoln City, OR.

1. The North Face Inlux Insulated Jacket  – Pic Above.

2. Montrail AT Plus Shoes: Dry inside, despite the flooded campground, due to the high soles, dense stiching, and just a bit of careful stepping. Way more comfortable than big, black, sloppy rainboots.

3. Yurt: A Yurt is a temporary cabin usually consisting of a wood frame with heavy tarping. Major plus – they are heated! This is perfect when camping on the soggy Oregon Coast in the winter with a young family. Without rainproof pants, our jeans got pretty soggy. In the heated yurt we were able to hang our pants and jackets, keep the room warm, and sleep our 5 person family comfortably on the provided bunk bed and futon.

Tip: Yurt camping in the winter is best. Busy campgrounds are quiet and empty so making a reservation is a breeze. In the summer, Beverly Beach Campground is an absolute ZOO! That’s when we pack the tent and head to quieter Central Oregon.

Lindsey. I’ve got to learn to post pics one at a time next to the paragraph that is relevant to them. Your posts are nice too look at while read.

The trick is to post picks one at a time rather than as a gallery. But it’s kind of a hassle! Thanks though Mike – I appreciate it!
